The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

No AHA sponsorship

Illinois CPR Certification is an independent training provider. Use of AHA instructional materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. The American Heart Association does not set our course fees and does not receive our course income, except for the portion of fees needed for AHA course materials as described above.

Hands-on skills requirement

Online-only courses do not meet AHA hands-on skills requirements for CPR. AHA courses that teach CPR skills require a hands-on skills session. Online-only BLS does not produce an AHA BLS Provider course completion card.

Wording we avoid

Consistent with AHA guidance, we do not claim that professionals are “AHA-certified” or that courses are “AHA-compliant” as a marketing label. We describe training as American Heart Association BLS Provider courses, taught by AHA Instructors, that follow current AHA guidelines and course requirements, with AHA BLS Provider course completion eCards issued after successful completion.
